Principal’s Message

Gultaz Memorial School & College is an education institution in Fatikchhari with a rich heritage. Instruction is provided here in an extremely organized and structured manner. Instruction in secondary education began in this institution in 1994. The institution received temporary recognition from the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Chattogram in 1999. Instruction in higher secondary education began in 2001. In 2004, the institution got temporary recognition at the higher secondary level. Secondary examinations were first held in 1998, and higher secondary examinations in 2003. There are 370 students in the school section and 49 students in the college section (as of June 2024). The school has 12 teachers; the college has 16. Both schools and colleges offer instruction in science, humanities and commerce sections. There is a ICT lab furnished by JAROMS Foundation, a science lab and a library as required by the government. Students use these facilities regularly. The school students have won numerous honors in various upazilla level competitions. A group of distinguished students had won second place in the 43rd National Science and Technology Competition held on December 26 & 27, 2021. In addition, there are numerous students who have earned athletic achievement awards at the district and upazilla level indoor and outdoor competitions. This institution is striving to perform better with government and local community support. In 1990, Mr. Jamal Uddin Ahmad and his wife Mrs. Rosy Ahmad founded Gultaz Memorial Girls High School with their own money. They bought the land and built the current three storied school building. From the inception of this institution in 1994 and until the incorporation as MPO (Monthly Pay Order) in 1998, Ahmad family paid for the teachers and staff salaries and other school related expenses. Later they added two new buildings for the school’s extension and a vocational training center. They have provided the entire school furniture when the institution was first establish. In recent years JAROMS Foundation, a family foundation has provided for numerous upgrades at GMSC. JAROMS Foundation has established the JAROMS Digital lab, an automated Student, Teacher and Staff Attendance Management System (AMS) and upgraded and renovated the Shaheed Minar on the premises. The Founders’ vision for this institution is to enable students to improve their lives through education, to broaden their minds, and to provide opportunities for the betterment of future generations. This remains the goal of this institute to ensure academic success of the students and prepare them to be conscientious and good global citizens.
